Knitted Ribbed Lace Scarf Pattern, by Karen T Morris (2008)
When I wanted an easy summer project, I devised this soft black scarf for dressy occasions. Its simple lace pattern is completely reversible and easy to memorize. I named it after a favorite book – either Black Beauty, which I loved reading in my childhood, or Night, Elie Weisel’s stunning, brief memoir.

As a French and Dutch-speaking half Belgian, the title of this scarf just jumped out at me, because it is actually 'LA nuit', not 'le', since it is a feminine noun!
